Cadbury bar milk phrase removed

6:20 pm on 29 September 2010

Cadbury has removed the phrase "glass-and-a-half" from its dairy milk chocolate bars after 80 years, having been told it contravenes European regulations.

The phrase was originally used to explain the amount of milk in every half-pound chocolate bar.

It now reads: "The equivalent of 426mls of fresh liquid milk in every 227 grams of milk chocolate".

Cadbury says it was sensible to make the change, because EU regulations state all weights and measures on packs must be in metric.
