Lion Nathan has bought back its former brewery site in Newmarket in, Auckland, brewery after an investment fund that acquired it, failed to obtain funding to redevelop the property.
The brewer bought the Great Northern Development investment fund for an undisclosed amount and is confident the site will attract the investment needed.
Lion Nathan will leave the Khyber Pass property next year to move to a plant in Ormiston Road.
The company says the purchase will not have an adverse financial effect.
