NZ and Australian markets down

The New Zealand sharemarket slipped on Thursday morning.

By 12.24pm, the NZX50 index down 6 points to 32 29 on turnover of $32 million.

Fletcher Building was down 2 cents to $8.05, Telecom was down 2c to $2.03 and Contact Energy was up 1c at $5.73.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 3c to $3.09.

Sky City Entertainment Group was down 1c to $2.94 and Sky Network Television was down 1c at $5.04.

Michael Hill International was up 1c to 69 after first quarter sales rose 13%.

Mainfreight was down 6c to $6.95, TeamTalk was down 5c to $2.25 and Rakon was down 2c to $1.23.

The Warehouse was down 3c to $3.92 and Hallenstein Glasson was up 5c to $4.30

Across the Tasman, the Australian 200 index was down 17 points to 46 70

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 75.17 US cents, 76.96 Australian cents, 47.36 pence, 62.34 yen and 0.5398 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 67.03.
