New Zealand market slips six points

The New Zealand sharemarket slipped slightly on Friday, with the NZX50 index losing six points to 3255 on turnover of $75 million.

Fletcher Building was down 3 cents to $8.35, Telecom was down 1c to $2.07 and Contact Energy was down 1c to $5.67. Fisher & Paykel Appliances was unchanged at 60c and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 5c to $3.11.

Auckland International Airport was down 1c to $2.06, Sky City Entertainment Group was up 1c to $2.88 and Sky Network Television was up 6c to at $5.21.

The Warehouse was up 1c to $3.90, Pumpkin Patch was up 1c to $1.95 and Hallenstein Glasson was unchanged at $4.39.

NZ Farming Systems Uruguay was unchanged at 59c and PGG Wrightson was down 1c to 57c.

Across the Tasman, the Australian 200 index was down 10 points to 4688.

The dollar was buying 75.73 US cents, 76.38 Australian cents, 47.35 pence, 61.65 yen and 0.5398 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was 66.92.
