Company's 1900% growth earns it top spot

A subsidiary of Telecom has been named as the country's fastest-growing business.

Telecom Rental emerged the winner in the Deloitte Fast 50 league of the country's most rapidly expanding firms.

The company provides finance to firms for telecommunications and information technology needs, and revenue has grown by 1900% over the past two years.

The Bay of Plenty-based online retailer, Nature Shop finished runner-up, followed by Christchurch-based Energy Light, an energy efficient lighting manufacturer.

Deloitte says the 50 firms added $571 million to economic growth over the past three years, creating 806 jobs.
