The New Zealand sharemarket closed on a high on Monday, with the benchmark NZX50 index up 18 points to 3328 on turnover of $53 million.
Fletcher Building finished up 3c to $7.93, Telecom was up 4c to $2.22, Contact Energy was unchanged at $5.97, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was up 2c to $3.09, AMP was up 35c to $7.15, Sky City Entertainment Group was up 1c to $3.20 and Sky Network Television was up 1c to $5.40.
Nuplex was down 1c to $3.34, NZ Refining was up 1c to $3.79, The Warehouse was unchanged at $3.88 and Cavalier was down 10c.
Across the Tasman, the Australian 200 index was down 5 points to 4688.
The dollar was buying 76.91 US cents, 78.2 Australian cents, 47.78 pence, 63.63 yen and 0.5624 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was 68.68.
