Pharmacy Brands says its half-year profit has doubled after it merged with Life Pharmacy.

The listed retail pharmacy group says it made a profit of $2.2 million for the six months to the end of September compared with $1.2 million for same period last year.

The first half of this financial year is the first period the merged companies have traded without disruption or integration costs.

Pharmacy Brands says it is well positioned to invest further in the broader health sector throughout New Zealand.

The group owns the Unichem, Amcal, Life Pharmacy and Care Chemist brands.
