Australian seed company bought

PGG Wrightson Seeds Australia has bought Keith Seeds in South Australia.

PGG agritech group general manager John McKenzie says the purchase will extend the growth of the company's operations in Australia, where PGG Wrightson Seeds has been operating for almost 75 years.

No purchase price was given.

Keith Seeds is based in the town of Keith in South Australia. It exports about 40% of the lucerne seed grown in Australia.

It also produces, processes and markets other pasture seeds and food grade pulses, such as peas, beans and lentils.

PGG Wrightson also recently expanded its New Zealand seed oeprations with the purchase of the Corson Grain maize seed business.
