New Zealand markets closes up 10 points

The New Zealand sharemarket finished up on Wednesday, with the NZX50 index rising 10 points, or 0.3%, to 3269 on turnover of $78 million.

Fletcher Building closed up 6c to $8.06, Telecom was up 2c to $2.19 and Contact Energy was down 2c to $5.88.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 7c to $2.95, Rakon was down 3c to $1.16, Sky Network Television was up 1c to $5.28, Charlie's Group was up 1c to 18c, Xero was down 10c to $2 and Delegats Group was down 1c to $1.75.

The Warehouse was down 4c to $3.73, Hallenstein Glasson rose 4c to $4.50 and Cavalier was unchanged at $3.10.

Across the Tasman, the Australian 200 index was down 10 points to 4579.

The dollar was buying 76.29 US cents, 77.97 Australian cents, 48.21 pence, 63.49 yen and 0.5692 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was 68.73.
