Coal mine company shares suspended

Pike River Coal shares are suspended from trading on the stock exchange.

Shares in New Zealand Oil & Gas, which owns 29% of Pike River, closed up five cents to 94c on Thursday. The stock plunged 28% on Tuesday.

Another explosion occurred in the Pike River Coal mine on Wednesday, ending any hope for the 29 miners inside.

Pike River Coal says it will conduct its own review of the disaster.

New Zealand Oil & Gas is donating $500,000 to a fund to help the miners' families.
