$2.2 million loss by Comvita

Health products manufacturer Comvita lost $2.2 million in the six months to September, compared to a profit of $1.6 million in the same period last year.

Sales fell to $36.6 million, down from just over $40 million last year.

The company says that because of difficult trading conditions and a higher New Zealand dollar against the US dollar and the pound, it had to sell nearly a third more product to earn the same export revenues as last year.
