Airlines in India coming out of global slump

Airlines in India seem to have emerged from the global slump that was dogging the industry.

With the holiday season in full swing, both full-service and low-cost carriers are experiencing heavy demand.

As a result, airfares have risen drastically and the government is threatening to intervene unless they drop.

KPMG Mumbai executive director Raajeev Batra says year-on-year growth has been consistent for the past three quarters and the market is in good shape.
