Online job advertising site Seek says new job advertisements have hit their highest level in more than two years - an indication the economy is improving and firms are feeling more confident.
The company says new job ads rose 20% in January compared with the same month last year.
Seek senior executive Helen Souness says growth has been healthy right across the country.
She says the number of applications per job is falling, which reflects a tightening labour market.
Helen Souness says February is shaping up well, with more than 15,000 jobs advertised on the site in the first week of the month.
