Electronics retailer JB Hi-Fi says sales at stores open at least a year jumped 4% in New Zealand in the second half of last year.
That outstripped the company's perfomance across the Tasman, where comparable sales fell 1.6%.
JB Hi-Fi has 153 stores, including 13 in New Zealand.
The company made a profit of $AUS87.9 million in the six months to December, an increase of 16% compared with the same period a year earlier.
But the retailer has warned that sales are down due to subdued comsumer spending in the first five weeks of this year, with sales at stores open for a year or more slipping in New Zealand.
