Sky TV bullish about subscriber levels

Sky Network Television says it believes it will continue to attract new customers, despite modest growth in overall subscriber levels.

The pay-TV operator lifted its half-year profit by 19% to $60 million in the six months to December, because more people subscribed to the premium MySky service, and also because of a lift in advertising sales.

About one in two households have Sky, but growth in new subscribers has slowed in recent times.

Sky Network Television chief executive John Fellet says however that new technology is giving the company the tools to entice potential viewers.
