Economic data release delayed due to quake

7:23 am on 25 February 2011

Statistics New Zealand has postponed the release of several pieces of economic data because of the earthquake which struck Christchurch on Tuesday.

The Government agency, which runs some of its operations from the city, has postponed the release of data on building consents, the value of building work, and international travel and migration, until further notice.

Trade and terms of trade figures will be published as usual.

The agency has also delayed the distribution of census papers until early next week.
