Businesses in New Zealand are slightly less optimistic about the coming months than their peers in other countries.

The Regus Business Confidence Index, which surveys more than 17,000 companies around the world, has reached a record high of 125 points, up 25 points since the survey began in October 2009.

For New Zealand, the Regus index shows business confidence is at 124 points, with two fifths of companies reporting healthy profit growth as well as a rise in revenues.

Globally, 81% of companies expect to freeze or cut their property spending. In New Zealand, even more companies, 94% , expect to follow suit.
