NZ and Australian markets up

The New Zealand stock market was up on Monday morning.

By 12.26pm, the NZX 50 index has risen 6 points to 3459 on turnover of $36 million.

Across the Tasman, the ASX200 was up 3 points to 4855.

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 79.27 US cents, 75.21 Australian cents, 48.6 pence, 66.88 yen and 05511 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 68.80.

Fletcher Building was down 4 cents at $9.14, Telecom was up 0.5c to $2.035 and Contact Energy was unchanged at $5.81.

The Warehouse was down 6 cents to $3.46 after announcing chairman Keith Smith will step down from the role, but remain a director on the board from 2 May.

Tourism Holdings was up 3c to 73c after a partial takeover offer

Sky City Entertainment was up 2c to $3.46 and Sky Network Television was down 4c at $5.74.

Mainfreight was up 2c to $9.36 and Infratil was down 1c at $1.86.
