Australia's unemployment rate has risen to 5.8% - the highest level in six years.

The number of people in jobs fell by 21,400 in June.

However, the Australian Bureau of Statistics says there has been an even bigger fall in full-time employment amid signs that people are giving up the hunt for jobs.

Full-time jobs, which usually offer better pay and security, fell by 21,900. Part time jobs increased by 400.
