Profit hurt by earthquake work

Kirkcaldie Stains says its half year profit fell by almost half, due to alterations taking place at the Harbour City Centre.

Profit for the Wellington retailer fell by 47% to $380,000 in the six months to the end of February.

Kirks says earthquake strengthening work disrupted stores at Harbour City Centre and sales fell 5% to $18.9 million.
