NZ market up, Australian down

The New Zealand sharemarket rose on Friday. At 1.46pm, the NZX50 index was up 7 points to 35 76 on turnover of $47 million.

Across the Tasman, the Australian 200 index was down 23 points at 4733.

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 79.14 US cents, 74.21 Australian cents, 48.76 pence, 64.59 yen and 0.5530 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 68.45.

Fletcher Building was up 8 cents at $9.19, Telecom was down 2.5c to $2.305 and Contact Energy was down 1c at $6.01.

Sky City Entertainment Group was up 1c at $3.73, Sky Television Network was up 2c at $5.75, and Auckland International Airport Ltd was up 2.5c at $2.325.

Ryman was up 9c at $2.77 after reporting on Thursday that its underlying profit rose 17% to 72 million. Rakon was down 1c to $1.15.

Xero was up 4c to $2.52 after narrowing its full year result. Nuplex was down 4c to $3.13 and NZX up 13c to $2.55. The Warehouse was up 2c to $3.70.
