Arthur Barnett reopens store in Christchurch

Dunedin-based department store Arthur Barnett is opening a temporary shop in Christchurch due to increased demand for its products.

The business used to have a branch in Christchurch, but closed it in 2006.

General manager Sue Smaill says the number of mail order inquiries from Cantabrians has grown exponentially since the earthquakes in September and February.

She said the store in Hornby will remain open as long as there is a demand for its goods and services.
