The first Z Energy service station was launched in Auckland on Friday.
The company, which is owned by Infratil and the New Zealand Super Fund, is rebranding more than 200 stations previously owned by Shell at a cost of $35 million.
Chief executive Mike Bennetts says Z stations will provide better service.
