NZ market up, Australian down

The New Zealand stock market was up on Tuesday morning

at 12.20pm, the NZX 50 index was up 7 points, or 0.2% to 3483 on turnover of $84 million.

The Australian 200 index was down 29 points, or 0.6%, at 4532.

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 81.6 US cents, 76.99 Australian cents, 49.85 pence, 65.4 yen and 0.5664 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 70.32,

Fletcher Building was up 2 cents to $8.69, Contact Energy was down 1c at $5.81 and Telecom was up 3c at $2.30.

PGG Wrightson was down 1c to 51c, after selling its finance arm for $100 million.

Sky City Entertainment was up 6c at $3.60 after being named the preferred bidder for a national convention centre in Auckland.

Air New Zealand was up 1c at $1.06, Auckland International Airport Ltd was up 0.5c to $2.245.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was unchanged at $2.95 and Fisher & Paykel Appliances was unchanged at 62.5c. The Warehouse was down 1c to $3.66.
