Fletcher Building rose 9c to $8.65, Contact Energy was down 6c to $5.45, Telecom was up 7c to $2.48, Sky City Entertainment Group was down 1 cent to $3.64, The Warehouse down 3c to $3.45, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare down 5c to $2.81, Methven was up 6c to $1.51 and Tower up 4c to $1.59.
Restaurant Brands closed down 2c at $2.55 after its annual meeting in Christchurch. It is hoping the Rugby World Cup will spark a stronger lift in sales, as consumers trim their spending. It is still considering adding the Taco Bell franchise to its stable of KFC, Pizza Hut and Starbucks.
In currency markets, the NZ dollar was at 81.68 US, 77.39 Australian, 50.87 pence, 65.69 yen, and O.5706 euro. The TWI stood at 70.70.
