Wool core business for PGG Wrightson Wool

PGG Wrightson has taken full control of Wool Partners International, which will trade as PGG Wrightson Wool from Friday.

Earlier this year growers tried to form a co-operative to buy the existing Wool Partners International joint venture from PGG Wrightson, but they failed to get enough support and raise enough capital.

PGG Wrightson managing director George Gould says the company had left the door open for growers to bring forward an alternative plan to buy Wool Partners, but that door's now closed.

Mr Gould says PGG Wrightson once again sees wool as a core business, and it won't be selling the operations.
