NZ and Australian sharemarkets down

The New Zealand sharemarket fell on Thursday morning.

At 12.39pm, the NZX50 index was down 12 points, or 0.4%, at 3412 on turnover of $57 million.

The Australian 200 index was down 20 points, 0.5%, to 4494.

The New Zealand dollar was buying 84.78 US cents, 78.75 Australian cents, 52.41 pence, 66.68 yen and 0.5853 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 72.94.

Fletcher Building was down 10 cents at $8.12, Contact Energy was up 2c at $5.35, and Telecom was down 2c at $2.445

Sky City Entertainment Group was down 4c at $3.60, Sky Network TV was unchanged at $5.83, The Warehouse was up 1c at $3.54 and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 3c at $2.63.

Mainfreight was up 8 cents to $10.20 and Vector was up 4c to $2.55.

Diligent Board Member Services was down 7c to $1.30. Scott Technology was down 10c to $1.30.
