The Hayman Island resort in North Queensland is open again after being wiped out by summer cyclones.
It is five months since Cyclones Yasi and Anthony hit the Whitsunday Islands in December and January.
Queensland Premier Anna Bligh says Hayman Island's reopening is a positive sign the region is recovering from the summer's disasters.
''This island is a big employer, it is a great Queensland tourism destination,'' she said.
''To see it back on the world market is great for the whole region, it will bring tourists and visitors here and everyone will start to feel that.''
