Port Lyttelton has lifted its full year profit, despite 10 months of earthquake disruption and is confident more containers will pass over its wharves this year as the rebuilding gets underway.

The company made $24.1 million in the year to the end of June, more than double what it did a year earlier.

When adjusted for the effects of the earthquakes, profit rose 34% to $12.1 million and revenue rose more than 7% to $93.7 million.

Chief executive Peter Davie, says that despite the earthquake disruptions, it's been one of the port's best years yet.
