NZX slips 11 points on Monday

The NZX50 index fell 11 points, or a third of a percent, on Monday to close at 3292 on turnover of $99 million.

Fletcher Building dropped 10c to $7.58, while Contact Energy fell 2c to $5.32

and Telecom half a cent to $2.40.

Sky City Entertainment was down 1c at $3.48, Sky Network Television rose 6c to $5.86 and Auckland International Airport and Air New Zealand both gained a cent to close at $2.33 and $1.11 respectively.

Fisher and Paykel Healthcare was down 1c at $2.21c, the Warehouse dropped 4c to $3.43, and Hallenstein Glassons was up 2c at $3.39 and Kathmandu down 2c at $2.04.

The NZX itself fell 3c to $2.32, while NZ Oil and Gas was up 1c at 68c and Mainfreight down 1c at $10 even.

Across the Tasman, the Australian 200 index was down by 102 points, or 2.4%, at 4141.

In currency markets the NZ dollar stood at 84.4 US, 79.79 Australian, 52.2 pence, 64.8 Yen and 0.596 euro, with the TWI 72.66.
