The benchmark NZX50 index rose seven points to close at 3327 on Wednesday on turnover of $59 million.
Fletcher Building gained 6c to $7.63 while Telecom dropped 1.5c to $2.58 and Contact Energy was unchanged at $5.52.
Sky City Entertainment was up 4c at $3.30 and Sky Network TV 2c at $5.42. The Warehouse also put on 2cents to close at $3.20, while Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 2c at $2.58 and Air New Zealand unchanged at $1.07.
Freightways rose 10c to $3.38 after agreeing earlier this week
to purchase Iron Mountain New Zealand for $12.7 million.
Hallenstein Glasson was up 6cents to $3.50 and Infratil 1c to $1.81. Port of Tauranga was down 1c to $9.80 and Restaurant Brands up 6c to $2.20.
In currency markets, the NZ dollar was at 76.03 US, 79.77 Australian cents, 49.3 pence, 58.29 yen and 0.5725 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 68.38.
