Scott Technology has lifted its full-year profit, thanks to stronger demand for its products.

The Dunedin-based company, which designs and manufactures automated production and process machinery, made $5.2 million in the year to the end of August, compared with $2.8 million a year earlier.

Chief executive Chris Hopkins says they did it despite an extremely difficult global economic climate. He says a lot of research and development in which the company invested in previous years came to fruition, and acquisitions also contributed.
