Sharemarket loses 4 points in Friday's trading

The benchmark NZX 50 index ended Friday's trading down 4 points or 0.1% at 3301 on turnover of $71 million.

Among the major movements,

Fletcher Building rebounded slightly, ending the day up 3 cents to $6.70 after peaking at midday at 6.71.

Telecom rose 2 cents to $2.55 and Contact Energy was down 3 cents at $5.623.

Sky City Entertainment was down 5 cents at $3.40 and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 7 cents to $2.47.

Port of Tauranga lost 15 cents to end the day at $9.62, Nuplex lost 1 cent to $2.65, and Methven was down 5 cents to $1.17.

NZ Refining was up 5 cents to $3.15 while Infratil gained 2 cents to $1.83.

Mainfreight was down 15 cents to $9.60, Cavalier was up 2 cents to $2.72, and The Warehouse gained 1 cent to $3.25.

In currency markets, at 5.20pm the NZ dollar was buying 79.30 US, 77.98 Australian, 50.42 pence, 61.05 Yen, and 0.5769 euro. The TWI was at 69.65.
