New Zealand sharemarket up on Wednesday

The New Zealand sharemarket was up when markets closed on Wednesday.

The NZX50 index closed up 20 points, or 0.6%, to 3300.

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 79.6 US, 77.49 Australian cents, 50.61 pence, 61.07 yen, and 0.5770 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 69.61.

Fletcher Building was up 9 cents to $6.39, Telecom was up 2.5 cents to $2.57 and Contact Energy was up 7 cents at $5.70.

Sky City Entertainment was up 5 cents at $3.43, Sky Network TV was up 10 cents to $5.55 and Auckland International Airport was up 3 cents to $2.35.

Air New Zealand was unchanged at $1.05 after announcing it will spend $340 million dollars on new planes.

The Warehouse was unchanged at $3.18.

Restaurant Brands was down 14 cents to $2.02 after its half year profit fell 44% to $7.5 million.

OceanaGold was down 22 cents to $3.10 and Hallenstein Glasson was down 6 cents to $3.64.
