Labour market stirring

12:51 pm on 29 November 2011

The labour market showed signs of improving in September.

The Statistics New Zealand national employment indicator uses tax data to measure changes in total filled jobs at the national level.

It shows the number of seasonally-adjusted filled jobs increased 1.2% in September, compared with the same month a year earlier.

It was the 17th consecutive month of annual jobs growth, though it's 0.1% lower than in August.
