Mining company to review deal with security firm

Bathurst Resources says it will review its arrangements with Provision, a security firm.

The mining company had intended to give a permanent contract to Provision for work at its Escarpment mine on the Denniston Plateau, but has learned that Provision paid a student to spy on protestors camped at Solid Energy's Happy Valley mine four years ago.

Bathurst Resources managing director Hamish Bohannan says he intends to discuss the situation with Provision.

He says the company does not condone the spying.
