An intermittent fault affected Telecom phone users overseas for a 24 hour period.
The company says the fault with its roaming service has meant some people couldn't use voice or texting services at various times on Tuesday.
It says engineers have been working on the problem and have made some changes, and on Wednesday the problem seemed to be under control.
The company says the problem may be related to demand on the service during the holiday period.
