Suncorp expects insurance claims arising from a hailstorm in Melbourne on Christmas Day to cost between $A200 - $A250 million.
The ABC reports the company has so far received 28,000 claims, the majority for vehicle damage.
Suncorp is still receiving claims for damage caused by the December earthquakes in Christchurch, which are expected to cost it between $A10 - $A20 million.
Its costs for natural disaster claims are expected to reach up to $A420 million for the six months to December 31 last year.
