LanzaTech has secured another $US56.8 million in new funding to speed the development of a process that turns industrial waste into fuel.
Malaysian Life Sciences Capital Fund and Petronas, the national oil company, were among investors in the latest round.
Lanzatech has raised more than $US85 million so far.
The company uses a proprietary fermentation process to convert gases into fuels and chemicals.
LanzaTech expects to start producing ethanol from steel waste gas at a demonstration plant in China later this year and is developing other facilities in India and the United States.
