Solid Energy says coal sales for the six months to December rose 9%, a record level for the first half of the financial year.
In a quarterly report, the company says stronger production boosted international sales by 15% and New Zealand sales by 16%.
Sales of wood pellets rose 5% for the half year due to new commercial customers and exports to the European residential market.
Biodiesel production rose 27% in the same period, but sales fell 2%.
