Professor Geoffrey Jones of Harvard Business School says New Zealand's natural industries are not as developed as the nation's clean green image might suggest.
He is researching a book examining the origins and development of green business worldwide, and is in New Zealand to meet with businesses and entrepreneurs.
Professor Jones has met representatives from the organic food, wine and skincare industries, as well as eco-architects and energy companies.
From his research so far, he says New Zealand's natural food and beauty industries are not as developed as he thought they would be.
Professor Geoffrey Jones is giving a public lecture at the AUT Business School on Wednesday.
More information is available on AUT's website.
