The benchmark NZX50 index rose 13 points to close at 3314 on turnover of $94 million on Thursday.
Fletcher Building was down 1 cent at $6.43, while Telecom rose half a cent to $2.165 and Chorus 1 cent to $3.29. Contact Energy was unchanged at $4.80.
Sky City Entertainment fell 1 cent to $3.50, and Air New Zealand lost half a cent to 91.5 cents.
Vector was down 2 cents to $2.63, while Nuplex was down 1 cent at $2.45. Restaurant Brands was unchanged at $1.96.
Briscoe Group was up 8 cents to $1.50 after saying its full-year profit will rise by 25% to $27 million, after strong sales over Christmas.
Xero was up 8 cents to $3.02 after raising $20 million from existing investors, and buying the rest of the Auckland software developer, Max Solutions.
The Warehouse finished up 2 cents at $3.05.
In currency markets, the NZ dollar was at 83.42 US, 77.75 Australian, 52.64 pence, 63.55 yen, and 0.633 euro. The Trade Weighted Index stood at 73.06.
