The Christchurch Central Development Unit is receiving hundreds of overseas inquiries from companies interested in tendering for the rebuild of the earthquake-devastated central city.
The unit was formed last week as an offshoot of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority and charged with creating a blueprint for the central city within 100 days.
The unit's director, Warwick Issacs, says the online tender application documents have received over 400 views and 250 downloads from architectural agencies.
Companies from as far away as London have downloaded the documents.
Mr Issacs says applicants will be short-listed by 7 May and appointed by 9 May to begin work the following day.
