The authority in charge of rebuilding Christchurch has more than doubled its demolition budget.
The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority has revised its demolition budget from $50 million in October 2011 to $115 million in March this year.
The Authority puts the increased costs down to more buildings being added to the demolition programme.
As at March, $60 million had been spent.
