The Canterbury Employers Chamber of Commerce wants Finance Minister Bill English to make the rebuild of Christchurch one of the top priorities in Thursday's Budget.
Chamber chief executive Peter Townsend says New Zealand's economy is not doing well enough and stimulating national growth is important.
But Mr Townsend says Christchurch is in a unique situation as the post-earthquake recovery gears up, and that needs to be reflected in the Budget.
