The contractors responsible for the demolition by implosion of a 14-storey building in central Christchurch say they are confident it will go ahead despite the objection of the owner of a nearby building.

Naylor Love and Ceres New Zealand are the contractors responsible for the demolition of Radio Network House, which is set to take place on 5 August.

Their spokesperson, Bill Johnson, says the owner of a nearby building has raised concerns about dust from the implosion covering his property and getting into the air-conditioning system.

Mr Johnson says he believes the man's concerns will be taken care of and he will meet him on Friday to discuss details.
