Two earthquakes were felt in Christchurch on Saturday.

The first, magnitude 4.0, was recorded at 11.07am. It was centred 10km south-west of the city at a depth of 12km.

It was followed at 12.06pm by one of magnitude 3.0, which was 7km deep.

There are no reports of damage.
