Hundreds of Canterbury residents have failed to get the zoning decision for homes on flat land overturned post-earthquake.
The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority announced changes on Friday for 104 properties.
The authority gave homeowners on flat land the option of appealing against the zoning decision for their properties in June. It subsequently received 1358 requests for review.
Of the 104, three properties will change from red to green and 101 will go from green to red.
CERA chief executive Roger Sutton says although 35 landowners did not request a zoning change, many of their neighbours successfully appealed their zones, and it makes sense for the whole area to be the same.
The applications were reviewed by an advisory group, which assessed whether the changes were appropriate.
The group was made up of three CERA officials with experience in public policy, law and geotechnical engineering, and an independent member, former Meridian Energy chief Keith Turner.
