Tuam St open for first time since quake

9:18 pm on 6 September 2012

Tuam Street in Christchurch has reopened to traffic for the first time since the February earthquake in 2011 and is accessible as a west-to-east one-way system.

Part of the street will be one lane, as several buildings still need safety cordons around them.

The area of High Street, south of Tuam Street, remains within the central business district's red zone with its own access point.
