Retailers frustrated with city blueprint

Land owners whose property is in the area flagged for a retail precinct in a master-plan for Christchurch, are frustrated they still have no idea what restrictions will be put in place for their developments.

Christchurch central city development unit's blueprint for rebuilding the city, which was issued in July, requires property owners in the retail area to share facilities.

But property manager Evan Harris says developers want more information.

Mr Harris, who represents for several land owners, says his clients want to get building plans underway, but there are too many uncertainties about size restrictions and the amount of shared spaces required in the blueprint.

He says the development unit has told him more details will be available at the end of October.
